Managed to book an emergency dentist for the following day (Good Friday)... my self diagnosis through Google searches scared the living daylights out of me...

So I appreciated the ease of booking, prices are clearly stated and to my suprise didn't cost much more than the same had I managed to get a regular dental appt, despite it being a bank holiday. Emergency dentist at Rainworth was reassuring and helpful. I would recommend both him and Emerdency.

FAQs

A problem is usually classed as a dental emergency if it needs prompt attention and cannot wait, for example severe toothache, swelling, a dental abscess, trauma to the teeth or face, a tooth that has broken or been knocked out, or a lost filling or crown that is causing pain.
Yes, children can attend for urgent dental problems. The dentist will focus on keeping your child comfortable, easing pain or infection and providing treatment if they are able to cope on the day. What can be done will depend on their age, how anxious they are and how well they can cooperate in the chair. As this is a private service, the usual consultation and treatment fees still apply.
The dentist will place a permanent filling at the emergency appointment whenever it is suitable to do so. In some situations this is not advisable, for example if the tooth is badly broken down, infected or needs more time to be treated properly. In those cases a semi permanent dressing is used to protect the tooth and ease symptoms, with further treatment arranged if needed.
A limited number of out of hours slots are available, including some Saturday appointments, but this is subject to availability. The best way to see what is available near you is to search using your postcode on our website.
Emergency treatment is carried out in the dental surgery using local anaesthetic to keep the area numb and comfortable. Some partner practices may offer intravenous sedation for suitable patients who are very anxious. Treatment under general anaesthetic is not provided as part of this service in primary care. If the dentist feels that GA would be the safest option for you, they will discuss referring you to an appropriate hospital or specialist service.
